Our homes are constructed of logs harvested from the forests of Scandinavia which grow 2.5 times as tall as our local forests and produce 15 times more timber. The logs are then transported to our mill where kiln drying reduces moisture content, causing them to shrink, thereby eliminating wood stress. Once the logs are dried the bark falls off resulting in smooth round logs. The logs are then sanded, smoothing out the knots, until they are brought to a white polished finish. Our handcrafter's product is much more detailed than a milled product and the construction of a log home is considered a work of art which has been handed down from one generation to the next and continues to grow throughout the years.
Centuries old traditions, dating back 3000 years ago to the first log homes in Estonia, are still in use today accompanied by exclusive variant and the highest accuracy of adjustment. Our handcrafted homes use ecollogically clean, high quality wood not infected by insects, wood graver or fungi.
There is great diversity within Scotch Pine and for our homes we use Karelian Pine trees. The logs possess inherent insulating qualities that will satisfy round-year living standards. The narrow-ringed wood is extremely disease and insect resistant with excellent dimensional stability and has a better thermal insulation value.
